“The user experience is simply in a completely different league. It is highly intuitive, well-organised, and you can tell that we are well placed technologically in 2025 – not 1990.”
"Finally a tender tool that keeps up with the times!" That was the thought of Tormod Skåle at Kantega after testing Cobrief. Now the Norwegian consulting firm works smarter with public tenders, gets a better basis for decisions and avoids missing important opportunities. Their experience shows that a modern tender tool does not just save time, but also serves as a strategic competitive advantage.
– I have been using Cobrief for a few months now and have not missed the old system a single time, says Tormod Skåle, sales director at the consulting firm Kantega.
He is talking about the solution they had used for many years, which they found to be very unclear and difficult to navigate. Now Kantega has switched to Cobrief.
– The user experience is simply in a completely different league. It is highly intuitive, well-organised, and you can tell that we are well placed technologically in 2025 – not 1990, says Skåle.
Tormod Skåle at Kantega believes Cobrief is suitable for anyone who works with tenders – from start-ups to established firms.
A better basis for decisions
It was Christian Martinsen at Knowit, a close business partner and acquaintance, who first tipped Skåle off about Cobrief.
Knowit has been using Cobrief for some time. Skåle was not disappointed. Cobrief gathers all relevant tenders in one clear inbox, sorted by relevance.
The system learns as you use it. This means that Kantega now catches opportunities they might previously have missed. Kantega uses Cobrief to filter, sort and qualify opportunities, among other things.
– It means we work smarter. We save time and we do not miss anything. It gives us confidence and a better basis for decisions, he says.
Fully owned by employees
Kantega has delivered tailor-made IT solutions since 2003 and today has around 180 employees across offices in Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim.
The company is 100 percent owned by its employees, and everyone who joins receives 1,000 shares. Last year, all employees could enjoy a dividend of 150,000 NOK.
Skåle explains that this gives Kantega a unique culture. Low turnover, a flat structure and a shared motivation to do the best for both client and colleague.
– It is about both sharing the value creation and keeping the share price low, so that more people can afford to buy in, he says.
Kantega delivers everything from systems development to architecture, UX and data science – with particular strength in banking and finance, renewable energy and the public sector.
Immediately understands how to use it
Kantega mainly delivers to the private sector, but the public sector is also a target area.
– The public sector is an important part of the business, both because it provides stability, and because we want to contribute to socially beneficial and professionally challenging projects, says Skåle.
Kantega has been using Cobrief actively since January 2025. Already after a few months, Skåle is convinced. He believes that all companies that either work with public tenders or aim to deliver to the public sector can benefit from a tool like Cobrief.
It is also quick and easy to get started.
– It is so intuitive that even those who have never worked with tenders before immediately understand how to use it, says Skåle.
Co-founder and CEO of Cobrief, Jonas Klafstad, believes that Kantega's approach to tender work is an inspiration to others.
– We are incredibly impressed by how forward-thinking and strategic Kantega has approached their tender work. They understood that an outdated tool is not just inefficient, but also a risk of losing valuable projects. By adopting Cobrief, they have proven that a modern tender tool is not just about saving time, but about ensuring a better basis for decisions and capturing opportunities they might previously have missed. Their success is clear evidence that the time has come to modernise, and we hope more will follow their example.
